Happy Birthday Mr Squiggle! 🎉 Mr Squiggle and his friends made their first appearance on Australian television 65 years ago. Norman Hetherington had only six days to develop the storyline for the show and make Mr Squiggle’s friends Rocket and Blackboard in time for the first episode. Rocket was made from wood, cardboard and papier-mâché, and painted in greys well suited to black-and-white television.
