Ahead of the team's matchup in the College Football Playoff, Ohio State announced Smith received a prestigious honor, amid a historic season with the Buckeyes. Smith has been named a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America. He received the honor shortly after winning the Big Ten Wide Receiver of the Year.
