This is the second meeting between Miami (Ohio) and Notre Dame in program history, with Notre Dame winning their 2017 matchup 52-17. A win would be the RedHawk’s first road win against a ranked opponent since 2003, when a Ben Roethlisberger -led squad defeated #20 Bowling Green for the 2003 MAC Championship.

Notre Dame: Marcus Freeman's team responded to the NIU loss in a big way last weekend by dispatching of Purdue 66-7. It was a much-needed "get right" victory for the Fighting Irish, who remain very much alive in the at-large conversation with a contest with nationally ranked Louisville looming next weekend.

Notre Dame will always be compared to USC as USC will always be compared to Notre Dame. That's just how rivalries have always gone and will always go. The matchup between the two happens on Thanksgiving weekend this year and could be huge in determining College Football Playoff bids.
