Israel must meet international obligations regarding the provision of humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza, the foreign ministers of Britain, France and Germany said in a joint statement on Wednesday.

Hamas reiterated its call to move forward on negotiating the second phase of its ceasefire with Israel on Sunday, stressing the need for humanitarian aid to be allowed into the besieged Gaza Strip.

The UK, France and Germany have warned Israel it risks breaching international humanitarian law by preventing aid entering Gaza. Israel has blocked the entry of food, fuel, medicine and other supplies to Gaza to try to get Hamas to accept a new ceasefire proposal and has warned of additional consequences, raising fears of a return to war.
