Adam Henrique and Corey Perry scored to help the Edmonton Oilers beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1. Connor McDavid added an empty-netter and Calvin Pickard stopped 35 shots for the Oilers, who snapped a five-game losing streak and got their first win since Feb.

Adam Henrique scored shorthanded and Corey Perry added a goal to support goalie Calvin Pickard as the Oilers toppled the Carolina Hurricanes.

Perry scored a goal and added two PIM in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Canadiens. Perry has two goals over three games to begin March. He had the opening tally Thursday, scoring 9:34 into the contest on a feed from newcomer Max Jones.

Calvin Pickard made 35 saves, and the Edmonton Oilers ended a five-game losing streak with a 3-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes at Lenovo Center on Saturday. Adam Henrique and Corey Perry scored for the Oilers (35-21-4).

BOTTOM LINE: The Buffalo Sabres head into a matchup against the Edmonton Oilers after losing six in a row. Buffalo is 15-14-3 at home and 24-32-6 overall. The Sabres have gone 9-14-4 in games they have more penalties than their opponent.

9. Darnell Nurse skated in game 697 of his career game this past week. It is not every day that an Oiler passes a franchise mark of Wayne Gretzky, but Nurse did just that. Darnell is now #12 all-time in Oilers history.
