A Southwest Airlines flight almost took off from a taxiway, rather than a runway, at Orlando International Airport in Florida before an air traffic controller stopped the plane, officials said.

The Southwest jet appears to have mistakenly accelerated on a taxiway that runs parallel to Runway 17R, reaching about 70 knots before slowing.
