Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Monday that he will meet with his Chinese counterpart, which follows “good meetings” he has previously had with China. Bessent said the United States will make “several new announcements” on tariff deals within the next two days,

President Donald Trump in April announced a 90-day pause on the tariffs he had unveiled just days prior on virtually every major trading partner.

Tariffs will revert to April 2 levels on Aug. 1 if countries around the world don’t reach deals with the U.S., according to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
