Aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has revealed that Air India cancelled 83 wide-body flights between June 12 and June 17, 2025 (till 6 PM), including 66 operated by Boeing 787 aircraft.

The recent surveillance conducted on Air India’s Boeing 787 fleet did not reveal any major safety concerns, a DGCA on Tuesday statement read .
The DGCA held a high-level meeting with senior officials from Air India and Air India Express, which collectively operate over 1,000 daily flights across domestic and international routes.

As part of ongoing investigations, the plane’s black boxes are being analysed. A black box records flight data, and includes a cockpit voice recorder for pilot exchanges and cockpit sounds. It will also pick up engine sounds. Today (Monday 16th) it’s been reported the cockpit recordings have been found.
