Roblox added new age-based accounts and parental controls after Florida sued the platform for allegedly failing to protect children.

With Roblox rolling out new age-based accounts, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the restrictions are helpful, but challenges remain when investigating crimes involving children and online gaming platforms.

Roblox is overhauling how younger players use its platform by introducing new age-restricted accounts and giving parents more power to monitor what their kids are doing. Starting in early June, the company will roll out two new account types known as Roblox Kids and Roblox Select.
