The National Museum of the Marine Corps in Virginia is planning to close for three months at the start of 2016 to allow for the display of two new aircraft.

The museum is about 35 miles south of the District at the Marine Corps Combat Development Command in Quantico, Va.

The free museum, which opened in 2006, is located in Prince William County and sits near the Marine Corps base at Quantico. It draws more than 500,000 visitors each year.
