CARBONDALE — At approximately 11:06 a.m. Sunday, June 8, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a fall in Giant City State Park in the area of Devil’s Standtable Trail.

An official with the Makanda Township Fire Department said the status of a hiker who apparently fell 15 to 20 feet Saturday at Giant City Park was still unknown as of Sunday afternoon.
