President Trump plans to issue an executive order to extend the pause on his steep, so-called reciprocal tariffs to Aug. 1, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday. The pause had been set to expire Wednesday.

President Trump is slated to sign an executive order to delay Wednesday's deadline until August 1. The tariff rates were initially set in April. Meanwhile, Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as there's a renewed push for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The Trump administration initially announced the global tariffs on April 2 before opting to pause he bulk of the levies a week later in favor of a July 9 date.
