Wells Fargo said on Monday the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has terminated a 2021 consent order tied to loss mitigation practices in the bank's home lending business.

Wells Fargo & Co. said the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency freed the bank from a 2021 consent order tied to deficiencies in its process for helping customers avoid foreclosure, resolving another in a series of missteps that date from the previous decade.

Regulators have terminated 11 consent orders against Wells since 2019, including five so far this year. The bank's asset cap, however, remains.
