A Powerball ticket sold in Missouri won $50,000 but just missed the $20 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The ticket matched four winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Monday, March 31, the Missouri Lottery said.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are more than 292 million to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers but not the Powerball and win a second-prize of at least $1 million. The odds of winning a third prize of at least $50,000 are 913,129 to 1.
The $526.5 million was revised upward from initial reports that pegged it at around $515 million, the Powerball website said.
There was no winner of the Tuesday, 1 April PowerBall or PowerBall Plus jackpot, but three lucky players won R290k each. Was it you?
The lucky ticket was purchased at a 7-Eleven store located at 763 North Euclid Street in Anaheim. The retail location also earns a max bonus of $1 million for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
