Thousands of anti-Trump protests are erupting across the United States this weekend under the banner of “No Kings” day.
The "No Kings" day protests were planned before riots erupted in Los Angeles over immigration enforcement raids. Trump called in the California National Guard and a few days later ordered Marines to the city. California Gov. Gavin Newsom filed a lawsuit over the president’s move to deploy members of the Guard without Newsom’s authorization.
Thousands of people gathered as elected officials and community leaders are slated to speak at some of the protests.
The demonstrations, which coincide with Trump's birthday and a military parade planned in Washington, D.C., are scheduled to take place across the country.
