MONROE COUNTY, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) – A road rage incident involving a handgun on Interstate 75 has resulted in the arrest of an Ohio man, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office reported. The incident began on northbound I-75, near the I-275/75 split in Frenchtown Township, which is north of the city of Monroe.

One driver was arrested after attempting to run from Gates Police and eventually crashing into a ditch on Friday. According to Gates Police, officers were dispatched to Elmgrove Road around 4 p.m. for the report of a vehicle stopped in a turning lane for 30 minutes.

Monroe County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from the victim of an incident on northbound I-75. The caller reported that the driver of a black Chevy Tahoe had pulled along side their vehicle and pointed a gun at them and the other two occupants in the vehicle.

An off-duty police officer arrested for allegedly pointing her pistol at an angry driver during a road rage incident in December won't be facing felony charges, the Snohomish County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday.
