The Hall of Fame game was not a good night for the Detroit Lions. Even more so, it was not a good night for former third-round pick Hendon Hooker. He finished the night going just 3-6 for 18 yards and an interception.

Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell named former Tennessee football great Hendon Hooker the starter for Friday’s preseason game at Atlanta. Hooker will play the first half, showcasing his talent after a redshirt rookie season.

Hooker and Kyle Allen, who are competing for the No. 2 spot on the depth chart behind starting quarterback Jared Goff, are both looking for vast improvement in the offense's performance when the Lions play at Atlanta on Friday.
