The U.S. soldiers had been at the center of a recovery mission in Lithuania for nearly a week after their armored vehicle sank near the country's border with Belarus.
The US military confirmed the search, saying the soldiers from the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, were undertaking tactical training, the US Army said in a statement.
The soldier and three others had gone on a training mission in a 70-ton vehicle that sank in a bog near the border with Belarus.
