MUMBAI, India (AP) — India’s biggest domestic cricket tournament was suspended for one week on Friday following the escalating military tensions with Pakistan.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been suspended for a week amid ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. The decision was made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the governing body and organiser of the competition which is the world’s biggest domestic Twenty20 cricket tournament.

The IPL 2025 is set to resume on May 17 after a week-long suspension due to India-Pakistan tensions following the Kashmir attack and subsequent military response. RCB will face KKR in the opening match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
